Crop Image

Crop, rotate and straighten images, with aspect and social-media presets.

How to crop an image online

Crop, straighten and rotate a photo in your browser, with ready-made aspect ratios for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, passport photos and print sizes. Free and private — nothing is uploaded.

Cropping is the fastest way to fix a photo: cut out empty space, centre the subject, straighten a tilted horizon, or force a picture into the exact shape a platform expects. Drag the corners for a free crop, or lock an aspect ratio (1:1, 4:5, 16:9, 3:2 and more) so the result fits without guesswork.

The pixels you keep are copied exactly — cropping never re-compresses or blurs the part of the image that stays. You can rotate in 90° steps or nudge the angle to level a photo, then download as JPG or PNG.

The file is processed on your own device and never uploaded to a server. For social profile and cover images at the right per-platform size, the Profile Picture Maker is quicker; for a square passport crop with a plain background, use the Passport Photo Maker.

Steps

  1. Add your image to the Crop Image tool.
  2. Drag the crop box, or pick an aspect-ratio preset (1:1, 4:5, 16:9, …).
  3. Rotate or straighten the photo if it is tilted.
  4. Download the cropped image as JPG or PNG.

Frequently asked questions

How do I crop a photo to a square?

Choose the 1:1 preset and the crop box locks to a square; drag it over the part you want to keep, then download.

Does cropping reduce image quality?

No. Cropping only removes the area outside the box; the pixels you keep are untouched and not re-compressed.

Can I crop a JPG and a PNG?

Yes — both are supported as input, and you can export to either format.

Is the image uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is processed on your own device and never uploaded to a server.
